Panaji Jan 21 (PTI) After weeks of negotiations betweenVictoria Premier League club Oakleigh Canons and ChurchillBrothers, striker Jerry Karpeh signed a six-month contractwith the Goan giants.
The contract was signed yesterday, when the transfermarket opened in India, after a final compensation packagewas agreed, club sources said.
The 26-year-old will make his debut for Churchilltomorrow against Pune FC during the on going I-League, theysaid.
Karpeh, who played for Oakleigh Canons in the VictoriaPremier league, had previously trained with S-League(Singapore) side Home United and Thailand''s Chonburi FC.
However, the transfer high fee pegged to the Liberia-bornAustralian prevented his move to one of the South East Asianclubs.
When an opportunity came along in late 2010, Jerry''srepresentative, R Sasikumar, former Singapore international,was quick to link up with his former national team coachVincent Subramaniam, who is the head coach of ChurchillBrothers, the sources said.
