PSF bans Guangzhou gold medallist racqueter for bashing coach

Karachi, Jan 19 (PTI) The Pakistan Squash Federation hasbanned Guangzhou Asian Games gold medallist Amir Atlas Khanfor criticising former world champion and PSF head coach,Jansher Khan.

"I have just been notified about the ban and thefederation has not bothered to give me any explanation whythey have imposed the ban," Atlas, who won the gold medal inthe last November''s Asian Games in Guangzhou, China said.

"I have been stopped from practicing on all courts andthe federation has also withdrawn all facilities extended tome as a ranking international player," he said.

"This is what you get for winning the gold medal andbringing laurels for the country," Atlas said.

The country''s top ranked squash player said he had nodoubt that Jansher was behind the ban.

"Obviously he didn''t like what I had to say to his faceon television and I just spoke the truth," Atlas added.

In a chat show on Geo Super channel, in which Jansher wasthe guest, Atlas lashed out at the former player and said hewas responsible for destroying Pakistan squash.

"The federation could not have picked a worst person tocoach the younger players. He is the one who stopped sponsorsfrom sponsoring me for international events on the worldcircuit. He has no love for the glory of Pakistan squash,"Atlas had claimed.

The PSF recently appointed Jansher as its head coach in abid to revive the profile of the game in the country.
