Hyderabad, Jan 19 (PTI) Expressing dissatisfaction overthe non-inclusion of any MP from Andhra Pradesh in the UnionCabinet reshuffle today, Congress Lok Sabha member MJagannadham said Telugu Desam and former MP Y S Jagan MohanReddy would take advantage of the situation.
"Andhra Pradesh has given 33 Lok Sabha members toCongress. Cabinet berths should be given as per that. TheCentral government stands on the strength of AP Congress MPs.
In neighbouring Karnataka, they have less MPs but betterrepresentation in the Cabinet," he said in Delhi. He said the party MPs would speak to the party highcommand about the matter.
Jagannadham, who hails from Telangana, felt that theearlier remarks of the MPs that they will quit their postsover the separate statehood agitation could be the reason fortheir non-inclusion in the Cabinet reshuffle.
"There is no such problem in non-Telangana regions. Whythe MPs from those regions are not included?," he said.
Successive Chief Ministers during TDP and Congressregimes have failed to secure ministerial berths for state MPsand reduced the stature of the parliamentarians, he alleged.
Telugu Desam, which harps on the theme of Telugu pride, and former Congress MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is alsotalking about self-respect of Telugus, would try to exploitthe situation to their advantage, Jagannadham added.
