Bangalore,Jan 20 (PTI): A group of lawyers under the banner''Advocates Forum for Democracy'' today urged Karnataka GovernorH R Bhardwaj to dismiss complaints filed before him seekingpermission to prosecute Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa overland scam allegations.
The advocates, who marched in a procession from the HighCourt to Raj Bhavan, in a memorandum, requested the Governornot to "pre-judge" the fact-finding investigations of twostatutory bodies -- Lokayukta and the Judicial Commission.
Referring to the complaint filed before the Governor by aForum of Lawyers, seeking permission to prosecute Yeddyurappaand Home Minister R Ashoka, the advocates contended that thecharge "is ridden with mala fides."
The lawyers raised slogans like "stop politicisation ofRaj Bhavan" and "Raj Bhavan is not extension of No 10 Janpath"(residential address of Congress President Sonia Gandhi) in acharge against the party for its alleged attempt to misuse theGovernor''s office.
The BJP government yesterday at its cabinet meeting hadpassed a resolution urging the Governor not to give consent toprosecute the Chief Minister and Home Minister.
