Ker High Court Advocates Assn demands ex-CJI''s resignation
Kochi, Jan 18 (PTI) The Kerala High Court AdvocatesAssociation today demanded resignation of former CJI K GBalakrishnan as Chairman of NHRC following allegations ofamassing disproportionate wealth against his family members.
In a resolution adopted by its extraordinary general bodymeeting in Kochi, the Association also wanted a high-levelenquiry into the allegations.
The resolution was passed after voting with a majority ofthe members supporting the resolution, Association sourcessaid.
Balakrishnan''s brother K G Bhaskaran resigned from hispost as Government Special Pleader in the High Court while hisson-in-law P V Sreenijan quit the Youth Congress membershipafter the allegations surfaced.
The former CJI''s another son-in-law M J Benny is alsofacing similar charges.
A vigilance probe is on against Sreenijan.
