Hyderabad, Jan 18 (PTI) Gujarat Chief Minister NarendraModi today said his government will provide land and otherinfrastructure facilities to set up the country''s firstGeo-Spatial park.
Geospatial is a term widely used to describe thecombination of spatial software and analytical methods withterrestrial or geographic datasets
Modi invited investors from across the country andoverseas to be part of the first of its kind park in India.
Speaking after presenting Geospatial World Forum-2011Excellence Awards here tonight, he said there was anoverwhelming response to the investors worldwide to the''Vibrant Gujarat'' summit held recently in Gujarat.
"Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for investments to thetune of Rs 20.83 lakh-crore (equivalent to USD 450 billion)were signed at the conclave and I am hopeful that theinvestments would make Gujarat much more vibrant state in thecountry in the years to come," Modi said.
He said the MoUs were signed mostly for projects ininfrastructure development, capacity building andmanufacturing.
He said the training programmes taken up by hisGovernment for improving skills of its 5-lakh employees wasbeing well appreciated by several states and they were tryingto emulate Gujarat, he claimed.
They were planning to reducing wastage of resources andtime and enhancing productivity through the project. Modiinvited the Geospatial World Forum to hold its biennialsummit in Gujarat next time. He thanked the forum for choosingGujarat for the "premier geospatial state" award.
Secretary of Ministry of Earth Sciences Shailesh Nayak,Director General of Ordnance Survey, United Kingdom C BVanessa Lawrence were also present.
