Mumbai, Jan 18 (PTI) IT major Tata ConsultancyServices (TCS), today said it plans to hire 37,000professionals for its domestic and overseas markets throughcampus placements in the next fiscal.
"We plan to hire 37,000 professionals through campusrecruitments in FY 12. We have so far visited 171 institutionspan-India," TCS Head (Global Human Resources), AjoyendraMukherjee, told reporters here.
"Our hiring ratio will be around 54:46 trainee andlateral respectively," he said.
The company had hired 27,500 professionals throughcampus recruitment last year.
"The demand is strong and we hope it will continue togrow in the coming days," he said.
The country''s largest software exporter said it hashired 50,000 personnel in the nine-month period ended December2010 and expects to add another 12,000-15,000 in Q4.
TCS added 20,219 people (gross) during the quarter (Q3FY 11), its highest addition yet, taking its total headcountto 1,86,914 at the end of the December quarter.
"Given the strength of business demand, we haveexceeded the hiring target of 50,000 employees we had set forthis fiscal year," Mukherjee said.
TCS CEO and Managing Director, N Chandrasekaran, hadyesterday said the company faces the major challenge ofattrition.
"Our short-term challenge is we have to continue toretain people although the attrition rate has come down in Q3FY 11," Chandrasekaran had said.
