Ahmedabad, Jan 17 (PTI) Former Gujarat minister AmitShah accused in 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter casehas asked for copy of CDs having video recording, allegedlyshowing two witnesses in the case being threatened by some ofthe co-accused, from the special CBI court.
Similar applications were moved by other accusedincluding suspended IPS officer D G Vanzara and others beforethe special CBI court of additional chief judicial magistrateA I Rawal on Saturday last.
In the applications, Shah and others have asked forvideo recording of the meeting between accused YashpalChudasama, Ajay Patel, suspended IPS officer Abhay Chudasamawith two witnesses, builders Raman Patel and his brotherDashrat Patel at the city-based Rifle Club that took placelast year.
Shah and others have contended that though they havethe transcripts of the video recording, as accused they hadright to have copies of video recording of the meeting whichwas filmed using hidden camera.
Further hearing on Shah''s application is scheduled forhearing tomorrow.
Former Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Shah, wasdescribed by the CBI as the ''kingpin'' of the conspiracy thatled to the encounter of Sohrabuddin and killing of two of thekey witnesses in the case Kausarbi and Tulsiram Prajapati.
Shah is out on bail but has been barred to enterGujarat by the Supreme Court, while Vanzara and other accusedare behind bars.
