Select copra drops on sluggish demand

Mumbai, Jan 18 (PTI) Copra Alapuzha and copra Kozhikodeprices dropped at the spices market here today due to subdueddemand from stockists and retailers coupled with lower millersofftake.

Meanwhile, copra Rajapur spurted on the back of freshdomestic buying amidst restricted supply.

Copra office Alapuzha slumped by Rs 150 per quintal toRs 6,300 from Monday''s closing level of Rs 6,450 and copraoffice Kozhikode fell by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 6,200 ascompared to Rs 6,250 previously.

However, copra Rajapur Mumbai rose by Rs 100 per quintalto Rs 7,900 from Rs 7,800 yesterday.

Rest of the spices closed steady owing to lack ofworthwhile buying.
