Renaming GH after Rajiv ploy to save alliance in TN: Nedumaran
Thanjavur,Jan18 (PTI) Naming a government hospital inChennai after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi is an attemptby Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to continue the DMK''s alliancewith Congress in Tamil Nadu for the coming assembly polls, PNedumaran, President, Tamil Desiya Iyakkam, said here today.
Challenging the DMK''s contention that the hospital wasnamed after the late Congress leader because he had undergonetreatment there, Nedumaran argued that eminent personalitiessuch as Dravidar Kazhagam founder E V Ramaswamy Naicker,former Chief Ministers K Kamaraj and C N Annadurai had alsobeen patients of the hospital.
Nedumaran said Karunanidhi should have named the hospitalafter one of those leaders "who fought for the uplift of theTamils." PTI CORR ARP
