HC notice on illegal constructions near Raj Bhavan
Jaipur, Jan 8 (PTI) Taking a strong view of mushroomingunauthorised construction adjacent to the Raj Bhavan in CivilLines area here, the Rajasthan High Court has asked theauthorities to file a response within four weeks explainingtheir inaction to check the illegal constructions.
Taking cognisance of a petition field by residents ofHari Marg, Civil Lines Colony, Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandariissued show cause notices to Secretary UDH, Chief ExecutiveOfficer Jaipur Municipal Corporation and Commissioner JDA.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Justice of the HighCourt, the residents stated that unauthorised constructionsare going on rapidly in Civil Lines Colony near Raj Bhawan andcommercial activities in residential units are also going ondespite a ban.
The letter, treated as a petition by the Court, alsostates that debris have been thrown on the main road of CivilLines and despite repeated complaints to the authorities noaction was being taken as the encroachers were "veryinfluential" persons.
Justice Bhandari has asked the state authorities to filetheir reply withing four weeks.
