Fund for renovation of reservoir not yet reached dist admn; YS

Hazaribagh (Jharkhand), Jan 17 (PTI) Senior BJP leaderYashwant Sinha today said though Jharkhand government hadcleared Rs 4.5 crore for renovation of a reservoir, it had notreached the Hazaribagh administration.

Sinha, who presided as the head of the ''Monitoring andVigilance Committee'' set up by state to monitor Centrally-sponsored schemes in the district, said though the funds hadnot reached the deputy commissioner, renovation of Charowa DamReservoir would begin with the available funds.

The Reservoir, the main source of drinking water to fivelakh people in Hazaribagh town and its adjoining areas, istotally dried up following two straight years of drought.

The committee comprising superintendent of police, DFOsand some executive engineers of PHED would meet again thisweek to study the proposal submitted by it before sending itto the state government for approval, Sinha added.

"Once the proposal is cleared, execution of work willstart before the monsoon," he said.
