Hyderabad, Jan 17 (PTI) DQ Entertainment (DQE), acity-based entertainment production and distribution company,today said it has inked a co-production agreement for thesecond series of the animation of Le Petit Nicolas withFrance-based M6 Studios.
The second season of Le Petit Nicolas (known as LittleNick) comprises 52 episodes of 13 minutes each with anestimated budget of approximately �7.7 million.
The series will be developed in high-end CGI andproduction is scheduled to start in this year. DQE has theexclusive right to sell and distribute the TV and video rightspertaining to the series in Asian territories in Hindi,English and all local languages, DQE said in a statement.
DQE will also distribute the series (both seasons) in allEnglish speaking countries worldwide.
Little Nick was created by Rene Goscinny, also thecreator of Asterix and illustrated by Jean-Jacques Sempe. Thisiconic French cartoon was first published in 1959, since whenit has sold over 10 million copies in more than 30 countries.
The first series of Le Petit Nicolas which wasco-produced by DQE is expected to premiere in the Indiansubcontinent shortly and has already aired in France and onZDF, Germany with excellent viewer numbers.
