Kolkata, Jan 17 (PTI) With both their star strikersruled out, a depleted Chirag United will face a stiff testwhen they take on Mumbai FC in a round 10 I-League match atthe Yuba Bharati Krirangan here tomorrow.
While their Brazilian striker Joshimar D''Silva is outbecause of a double booking, Junior Elijah is yet to recoverfrom an injury, a situation that will force the side to have anew look attack in Branco Cardozo and Mohammad Rafique.
If this was not enough, Chirag United''s defence too maytake a hit if their mainstay defender Chika Wali (groininjury) stays out as the home side will have to bank on theirmain performer Lalkamal Bhowmick, who already has fourman-of-the-match awards to his credit.
Both the teams have 14 points from nine matches, thoughChirag United are ahead by virtue of a goal difference but thehome side will have to do something special to earn fullpoints tomorrow.
Chirag United will look to gain confidence from the factthat in the previous match they held leaders East Bengal in amatch in which Joshimar missed a penalty, while they stunnedthe other big city rivals Mohun Bagan earlier.
Mumbai FC, on the other hand, will get the services ofall their three foreigners, Ghanaian defender Evans Quao andNigerian strikers Ezeh Henry, and Ebi Sukore.
Sukore, who scored three goals including a brace againstViva Kerala, will be their main strength.
Mumbai FC also gain from the fact that four of theirplayers, Peter Siddiqi, Gautam Debnath, Noel Wilson, P CLalawmpuia, have all played in Kolkata when they representedMohun Bagan.
"We played good football in the last two matches and wewill have to continue that. We will have to get three pointsfrom tomorrow''s match. Hopefully, the new striking pair ofRafique and Branco will be able to help us win," saidSanjoy Sen, who is at the helm of the side in the absence ofSubrata Bhattacharya.
