Cabinet reshuffle; countdown begins!

Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi
New Delhi, Jan 18: The speculation about union cabinet reshuffle, which is neither confirmed nor denied yet, is about to take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday, Jan 19 at around 4 pm.

After his meeting with president Pratibha Patil on Jan 17, prime minister Manmohan Singh met Congress president Sonia Gandhi twice on Tuesday, Jan 18 to finalise the list of people likely to be included in the Union Cabinet, sources informed.

Indications are that changes in the government are likely to be restricted to filling up of three Cabinet berths besides minor reshuffle in four-five ministries.

Cabinet likely to be young

Two of the vacancies were caused by the controversial exits of A Raja and Shashi Tharoor while the third was caused due to the coronation of Prithviraj Chavan as Maharashtra Chief Minister.
