BPCL lift T20 Cup with super over win over IOL

Mumbai, Jan 17 (PTI) Bharat Petroleum won the intensecontest for top honours against Indian Oil that was resolvedthrough the super over to lift the Rs 12-lakh prize money D YPatil T20 Cup tournament here.

BPCL prevailed in the tie-break after both teams finishedwith the same score of 154 at the end of their 20-overinnings.

Karnataka middle-order batsman Manish Pandey''s struck asix and two fours in making 17 off just 5 balls off IndianOil''s medium pacer Anand Rajan''s super over to provide theknock out punch as BPCL successfully chased the target of 15runs on the final ball.

The winners took home the trophy and the top prize moneyof Rs seven lakh while Indian Oil had to settle for runners uptrophy and half that prize money.

Harpreet Singh of Indian Oil was adjudged the Man of theMatch for his performance in the final and Raju Bhatkal ofCanara Bank was adjudged the Man of the Series.

Indian Oil''s Ajinkya Rahane, Rajesh Pawar and Amit Daniwere adjudged best batsman, bowler and fielder respectivelyfor their efforts.

Scores: BPCL 154 for 7 in 20 Overs( Bhavin Thakkar 32,Uday Kaul 33, Vinit Indulkar 38; Anand Rajan 2 for 33, AmitDani 2 for 28) tied with Indian Oil 154 for 5 in 20 Overs(Aditya Tare 34 not out, Harpreet Singh 57).

Super over: Indian Oil 14 for no loss (Harpreet Singh 13not out). lost to BPCL 18 for no loss (Manish Pandey 17 notout).
