Cuttack, Jan 17 (PTI) The Orissa Cricket Association(OCA) today announced Australian cricketer Michael Bevan asits chief coach for the state''s Ranji Trophy team for 2011-12.
"Bevan has, in principle, agreed to render his servicefrom October 2011 to February 2012," OCA secretary AsirbadBehera told reporters here.
As agreed upon, the OCA has to pay 35,000 USD to Bevanper month excluding the expenses on account of his hotelaccommodation, living cost and airfares, he said.
"I will remain accountable to OCA for the performanceof the team," Bevan said adding he would like to work for theoverall development of the cricket in the state.
Bevan, having 20 years of experience in the game, hadmeanwhile started the process of suggesting recommendation forthe betterment of cricket in the state in all age groups,including women, with special emphasis to the senior cricket.
He had already interacted with the selectors, coaches,trainers and physios including all BCCI qualified coaches anddistrict level coaches of the OCA.
He has also shown interest to visit Agartala to watchthe progress of Ranji Trophy team during the Vijay HazareTrophy East Zone league-2010-11 to be played from February 10to 18, Behera said.
