Pune, Jan 17 (PTI) After DMK and Trinamool Congress,another UPA constituent NCP today favoured a rollback of thehike in petrol prices.
NCP MP Supriya Sule, daughter of party chief SharadPawar, said her party, along with other UPA allies, hadexpressed concern over the recent hike in petrol prices andfavoured a roll back.
Noting that the government decision to hike petrol priceswas linked to fluctuations in international crude prices, shesaid along with NCP, other coalition partners DMK and TMC alsohave articulated their concern over the hike, favouring areview to offer relief to the common man.
In Kolkata, Trinamool Congress took to the streets againtoday protesting petrol price hike and said that on January 19a Trinamool Congress delegation of MPs will meet the PrimeMinister and convey to him "our worry over price rise".
The party held block-wise protests against petrolprice rise and skyrocketing prices of essentials during theday.
Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee had yesterday said thatshe was not cosulted on the hike in petrol prices.
