Washington, Jan 17(Itar-Tass) US and Canada will helpRussia establish a new anti-terrorist training center, a topObama administration official here said.
Anne Harrington, the Deputy head of the US EnergyDepartment''s National Nuclear Security Administration, saidthat the center would be built in Russia and would belong tothe Defense Ministry.
The tripartite agreement stipulates the construction andequipment of the center, repairs of a number of existentbuildings and development of other infrastructure.
The center will train personnel of Russian nuclearsites to use various tactical methods in the provision ofsecurity, the official said.
Russia, the United States and Canada realize the need forguaranteeing top-grade training of forces responsible forhandling emergency situations related to nuclear armaments andmaterial, Harrington said.
The partnership between the United States, Canada andRussia will help the fulfillment of international commitmentsassumed by the sides at the nuclear security summit held inWashington in April 2010, she said.
