Munda to face Dasrath in assembly bypoll

Jamshedpur, Jan 16 (PTI) Jaharkhand Vikas Morcha(Prajatantrik) (JVM) will field Dasrath Gagrai alias KrishnaGagrai against Chief Minister Arjun Munda in the forthcomingKharswan assembly by-election slated for February 10.

JVM Saraikela-Kharswan district committee today zeroedin on Gagrai at a meeting held in Saraikela, said Arvind KumarSingh, its deputy leader in the Jharkhand assembly.

Asked about party''s poll plank to take on Munda in theby-election, Singh said there were several issues to fight theelection but corruption and development would be highlighted.

Singh, MLA from adjoining Ichagarh constituency inSaraikela-Kharswan district, alleged that the development ofKharswan was much below expectation even though Munda hadrepresented the constituency for 17 years since 1995.

Earlier, sitting MLA Mangal Singh Soy had vacated theKharswan seat to pave the way for Munda to seek election tothe state assembly from there.

Since he took over the reigns of the government inSeptember last, he is not a member of the house. He will haveto be an MLA within March next.
