Cold weather intensifies in Punjab, Haryana

Chandigarh, Jan 17: Punjab and Haryana were facing severe Cold wave forcing people to remain indoors on Monday morning, Jan 17. In most parts of the states, the minimum temperature recorded was between one and two degrees Celsius, according Meteorological Office.

With a low of 1.9 degree Celsius, which is two degrees below normal, people of Amritsar continued to be in the grip of cold wave in the region. Narnaul recorded a low of four degrees Celsius, while in Bhiwani the minimum temperature was 4.6 degrees Celsius.

Punjab's Ludhiana recorded a low of 4.9 degrees Celsius, one degree below the normal.

Karnal and Rohtak recorded 5.4 degrees Celsius each. Patiala and Chandigarh recorded five degrees Celsius each, which was one degree below normal and Hisar recorded a low of 4.7 degrees Celsius, one degree below the normal.

The weather office has predicted dry weather in the region for the next two days.

Mist was covered most parts of Punjab in the morning hampering the visibility.
