Bhullar''s title will raise the bar for Indian golfers: Sandhu

New Delhi, Jan 17 (PTI) Professional Golf Tour of IndiaDirector Padamjit Sandhu today congratulated Gaganjeet Bhullarfor becoming the first Indian to win an event on the EuropeanChallenge Tour and said his exploits will raise the bar ofIndian golfers in the world.

"We at the PGTI extend our heartiest congratulations toGaganjeet Bhullar on becoming the first Indian to win an eventon the European Challenge Tour," Sandhu said.

"Gaganjeet''s win is yet another giant stride for Indianprofessional golf and reaffirms his status as one of the mosttalented young golfers in Asia.

"Bhullar''s landmark victory will certainly raise the barfor a whole generation of Indian golfers," he added.

Bhullar became the first Indian to win on the ChallengeTour after triumphing by one shot at the season-opening Euro200,000 Gujarat Kensville Challenge in Ahmedabad yesterday.

Bhullar battled with his nerves during a closing round of75, but his five-under par 283 was enough to see off England''sMatt Ford, who signed for a round of 70 to finish just astroke behind yesterday.
