SHO transfered after not responding to man''s plea
New Delhi, Jan 16 (PTI) A Station House Officer (SHO)was transfered to police lines here today following delay inregistration of a case of armed robbery after policemen foughtover jurisdiction.
Kailash Kukreti, the SHO of west Delhi''s Keerti Nagarpolice station, has been transfered to Police Lines inconnection with the incident, a senior police official said.
Businessman Vikas Khanna (41) had to run from pillarto post yesterday to get a case registered and police actafter he was waylaid by four motorcyclists and robbed off Rs15 lakh in Keerti Nagar at around 11 am.
"He was on his way to his deposit the cash at a nearbyIndian Overseas bank. He got out of his car to drop hisdaughter at her tuition centre when the men stopped them andheld him at gunpoint after which they asked him to part withthe cash bag," the official said.
Initially, the Keerti Nagar police station refused toregister the case or take any action claiming that theincident took place in the jurisdiction of another policestation.
"Commissioner B K Gupta had warned that harsh actionwill follow if policemen squabble over jurisdiction ratherthan attending to cases," the official said.
Addressing the annual press conference early thismonth, Gupta had said that policemen will have to face harshaction if they fight over jurisdiction and do their duty. PTISJY
