Punjab''s revenue to cross Rs 14,000 cr next year: Sukhbir
Takhatupura (Moga), Jan 15 (PTI) Punjab Deputy ChiefMinister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said state''s financialposition is sound and revenues would cross Rs 14,000 croremark next year.
"Financial position of the state is very sound... withinfour years of SAD-BJP government, the revenue has reachedRs 11,000 crore and expects to cross Rs 14,000 crore nextyear," Badal told reporters here today.
Talking about the administrative reforms, the DeputyChief Minister said that computerisation of land records wouldsoon complete. He said that with these changes land owners,would not have to suffer in the courts in case of partition oftheir land as revenue cases have been made timebound.
He said that even transport department would be fullycomputerised and in most cases one need not visit DTO officeas registration of new vehicles would be held at dealerslevel.
Badal also criticised the state Congress party leadershipfor remaining silent on the issue of debt waiver.
"A state contributing 70 per cent to the national foodgrain pool gets only 1 per cent of national agriculture debtwaiver fund and Punjab Congress remains silent?" hequestioned.
On Finance Minister Manpreet Badal criticising subsidiesfor the poor he said that subsidies like pension, shaggunscheme, free power would continue for weaker section of thesociety.
