Mumbai, Jan 15 (PTI) As part of his preparations for nextyear''s London Olympics, Asian Games gold medallist boxerVijender Singh is considering shifting his base to Europe fortraining in the run-up to the mega event.
"I am thinking about shifting my base to either UK orGermany for training for some time before the Olympics. I willtake a decision on it soon," he said on the sidelines of apromotional event for Nike here today.
The Haryana-based boxer said he was undecided aboutparticipating in the National Games to be held next month inRanchi as he felt it was time to give an opportunity toyoungsters to prove themselves.
"The National Games and World Championships in Septemberare the two important events this year. However, I am yet todecide on participating in the National Games as I feel thetime has come to give the younger players a chance."
The 34th National Games will be held from February 12 to26.
The 25-year-old Beijing Olympic bronze medallist said theemergence of boxers such as Suranjoy Singh and Jai Bhagwan hadeased the pressure of expectations from senior pugilists likehim and Akhil Kumar.
"It is good to see the youngsters perform. We cannotremain No. 1 all the time and need someone to take my place,"he added.
