Shimla, Jan 14 (PTI) A fresh spell of snowfall in Shimlaand other tourist destinations brought cheers for visitors,but affected air and road traffic across Himachal Pradesh.
Fights between Shimla, Delhi and Kullu were suspended dueto inclement weather, while slippery roads and foggyconditions disrupted vehicular traffic in the higher hills.
''Queen of Hills'' Shimla experienced 15 cm of snowfallthis morning, making it even more picturesque, while othertourist spots like Manali Narkanda, Chail, Kufri and WildFlower Hall received 10 to 15 cm of fresh snow, MET officialssaid.
Lahaul and Spiti valley got covered by 80 to 100 cm ofsnowfall, while Rohtang pass received 100 cm of snow.
Icy winds swept the region, dropping minimum temperatureat several places. Shimla recorded a low of 1.4 deg C.
Rainfall at lower hills also brought down daytemperatures at many towns of the state. Bhuntar, Sundernagarand Mandi recorded a maximum of 9.5 deg C, 14.5 deg C and 14.0deg C respectively, five to nine degrees below normal.
Weathermen have predicted heavy snowfall or rains atisolated places in the next 24 hours and warned people livingat higher altitude against venturing out.
