Mumbai, Jan 14 (PTI) NCP MLC Vinayak Mete today said thatMNS chief Raj Thackeray was "frustrated" because of thesetback in the recent Mumbai University senate polls.

Raj, at a rally at Aurangabad, had lashed out at NCPleaders, and had said that while MNS MLA Harshvardhan Jadhavwas beaten mercilessly by police, no action had been takenagainst Mete, whose followers attacked the house of Loksattaeditor Kumar Ketkar two years ago.

"Raj Thackeray is frustrated, and just blabbering afterhis party was defeated in Mumbai University senate electionsby Shiv Sena''s young face and his nephew Aditya...also(because)the people have now accepted Deputy Chief MinisterAjit Pawar as the youth leader," Mete told reporters here.

At the rally, Raj condemned the way Jadhav was beaten bypolice during Chief Minister''s visit to Aurangabad last week.

He alleged that while Jadhav was beaten up at the instance oftop NCP leaders, no action was taken in the cases of violencewhere NCP leaders were involved.

But Mete today said that Raj had no real sympathy forJadhav. "Only after Shiv Sena executive president UddhavThackeray condemned the beating, Raj went there to meetJadhav," the NCP leader said.

Mete also criticised the language used by Raj at therally. By using such language, Raj greatly "underminedMaharashtra''s culture", he said.
