Bangalore, Jan 14 (PTI) JD(S) MLAs, MLCs and leaders havedecided to stage a dharna in front of the Raj Bhavan here onMonday to intensify their demand for dismissal of the B SYeddyurappa government for its alleged land scams, corruptionand nepotism.
JD-S Legislature Party leader H D Revanna and his deputyin the Assembly Bandeppa Kashempur said the party would alsostage a dharna before the Rastrapathi Bhavan and submit apetition to President Pratibha Patil to draw her attention tothe "rampant corruption and misuse of powers" by the BJPgovernment. He, however, gave no date for the protest.They said JD-S MLAs would not participate in the nextsession of the State Assembly if Speaker K G Bopaiah did notreject a report submitted to him by Appachu Ranjan committeerecommending suspension of 15 Congress and JD-S MLAs fromAssembly membership for their "unruly" behaviour in the Houseduring the confidence vote in October last.
Terming the constitution of the Appachu Ranjan panel as"illegal", Kashempur claimed the panel had no powers torecommend to the Speaker to suspend the MLAs.
"The Chief Minister used the Speaker to cover all scams bynot allowing the debate under the adjournment motion sought tobe moved by the Opposition," he alleged.
