Case against BJP MLA transferred to sessions court for trial
Indore, Jan 14 (PTI) A magistrate''s court here hastransferred a murder case involving BJP MLA and former MadhyaPradesh Minister Kamal Patel to the Sessions Court for furthertrial.
One Durgesh Jat was allegedly killed in the cross firebetween the supporters of Kamal Patel, and those of Congressleader Rajendra Patel at a farm house in Harda district inMarch 2008.
His body was never found, and his father, Ramvilas Jat,had filed a habeas corpus case in the High Court.
Madhya Pradesh High Court then directed CBI to probe it.
A total of ten accused, including Kamal Patel and hissons Sudeep and Sandeep, were present before the CBI''s SpecialJudicial Magistrate, Shubhra Singh here yesterday when sheordered transfer of the case to Harda sessions court.
Patel''s counsel, Anshuman Shrivastava, said that theCBI court transferred the hearing to the District and SessionsCourt at Harda, as magistrate''s court has no jurisdiction totry serious offences.
The next hearing is on January 28 at Harda court, hesaid.
