"The incidents of violence and stone pelting are occurringin Jammu and Kashmir for the past six months ... The Kashmirproblem is a historic blunder of the Congress and the wholenation is paying the price of its consequences," BJYMnational president and BJP MP Anurag Thakur said here.

"The root cause of the problem is Article 370," he saiddemanding its revocation.

Thakur is leading the Kolkata-to-Kashmir Rashtriya EktaYatra to unfurl the national flag at Lal Chowk in Srinagar onJanuary 26 after a gap of 18 years. The yatra started onNational Youth Day on January 12 and resumed during the dayafter reaching here yesterday.

He questioned Congress'' "silence" over the situation inJammu and Kashmir. "Seeking to prevent one from unfurling thenational flag should be treated as disrespect," he said.

He asked Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi togive his reactions, as the youth wanted to hear from him aboutthe problem.

"There is an urgent need to allay the mistrust createdamong the Kashmiris due to wrong policies of Omar Abdullah andthe Congress governments," he claimed.
