Shoaib Shaikh slams unbeaten century

Mumbai, Jan 13 (PTI) An explosive, unbeaten ton by ShoaibShaikh powered hosts D Y Patil A to a comprehensive 70-run winover Kerala Cricket Association in their last league encounterto enter the knock out stage of the Rs 12 lakh prize money T20cricket tournament here today.

Batting first, D Y Patil rode on Shaikh''s ton that cameoff 65 balls with seven fours and six huge sixes, to score178 for five in 20 overs. In reply, KCA collapsed for 108 in18.4 overs with off spinner Siddharth Chitnis grabbing fourfor 16.

In another must-win match, Canara Bank beat CentralRailway by 38 runs to make the last eight grade.

Also making the grade was Air India, Delhi, who outplayedState Bank of Hyderabad by seven wickets.
