Police close to identifying culprits in Suri murder case: Khan

Hyderabad, Jan 13 (PTI) Police has made progress in theinvestigations into the killing of MaddelacheruvuSuryanarayana Reddy alias Suri, and they were almost close toidentifying the culprits, a top police official said today.

"There is progress in the (Suri murder) investigation. Weare close to almost identifying the culprits and the motivebehind the murder," City Police Commissioner A K Khan toldreporters here.

The investigators have asked certain persons not to moveout of Hyderabad, Khan said.

Suri, a faction leader from Anantapur district inRayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh and the prime accused inthe murder of TDP MLA Paritala Ravi, was shot dead by gunmenin his car in Yousufguda here on January 3 and police stronglysuspect his close aide Bhanu Kiran''s involvement in hismurder.

Meanwhile, the CCS police which has been investigatingthe case today recorded the statement of Telugu film producerC Kalyan. Later, speaking to media, Kalyan said though, heknew Bhanu for the past three years, he used to discuss onlyfilm-related issues with him.

"Apart from this I have no connection with Bhanu and Ihave not taken any fund from him for financing my films,"Kalyan added.

Special police teams have already been despatched toBangalore and other places to nab Bhanu.
