Indian eves beat WI by 10 runs in 2nd ODI

Vadodara, Jan 13 (PTI) India eves survived a late burstfrom Anisa Mohammed and Shakera Selmaneked to out a 10-run winover West Indies women''s team in the second cricket One-DayInternational here today.

With this victory, India drew parity in the five-matchseries after West Indies chased down 162 runs in the first ODIin Mumbai on Tuesday.

Sent into bat, Indian eves could only manage 134 runs asthey were bundled out in 41.2 overs.

For India Harmanpreet Kaur top-scored with 26 while DianaDavid (24), Mithali Raj (19), Poonam Raut (17) and AnaghaDeshpande (17) also chipped in with useful contributions.

Defending the target, the home team looked set for aneasy win after they reduced West Indies to 80 for eight.

But Mohammed (26) and Selman 17 not out) made thingsdofficult for India with a a 37-run ninth-wicket stand beforebut left-arm spinner Gouher Sultana (3/10) scalped the crucialwicket of Mohammed.

However, it was captain Jhulan Goswami who struck theearly for India, picking up the crucial wicket of StaphanieTaylor, who had scored 85 in the first ODI, in the third overfor just four.

West Indies were soon reduced to 29 for three afterseamer Rumeli Dhar trapped Juliana Nero lbw and Shanel Daleybecame the first run out casualty of West Indies.
