Congress workers beat drums, ask govt for better infra
Dehradun, Jan 14 (PTI) Drum beats replaced sloganeeringin a novel protest today by Congress workers against theUttarakhand government for the lack of infrastructure in Tehridistrict.
The party workers led by Tehri MLA Kishore Upadhayayheld drum beating at nearly 500 villages of Tehri district inorder to press the demand.
Upadhayay said he has urged the government to take stepsfor setting up a central university at Ranichauri area of thedistrict. A medical college should also be set up at NewTehri city, he said.
"Most of our demands had been approved by the previousCongress government. But the BJP government has not done anywork for their (projects) implementation. We have asked thegovernment to implement all our demands at the earliest," theMLA said.
