Cong distressed at CAG stand on MPs right to comment
New Delhi, Jan 14 (PTI) The Congress today hit out atCAG saying it is surprised and distressed at its stand thatMPs cannot comment on its report when the document is beingexamined by a Parliamentary Committee.
Voicing its displeasure over the CAG statement onWednesday, Congress spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan said thereis no rule that prohibits a MP from speaking on a CAG reportwhile it is being considered by the Parliament''s PublicAccounts Committee(PAC).
The CAG while responding to Telecom Minister KapilSibal''s comments against the Government auditor in connectionwith its report on the 2G spectrum allocation scam had said"making public comments on the matter which is beingconsidered by a Parliamentary Committee is highly improper andmay even amount to contempt of the House."
