RBS elevates Madan Menon as Singapore country executive
Singapore/Mumbai, Jan 13 (PTI) The Royal Bank of Scotlandhas appointed Madan Menon as Singapore country executive todrive its wholesale and investment banking franchise acrossIndia and Southeast Asia.
In this new role, Menon will relocate to the city stateto lead the RBS franchise in Singapore, one of the six globaltrading hubs for this English lender. This appointment is inaddition to his existing responsibilities as head of globalbanking and markets (GBM) for India and head of global bankingfor Southeast Asia.
Singapore is currently the regional hub for RBS'' fixedincome, currencies and commodities trading, credit riskmanagement and global transaction services businesses.
In addition, Singapore houses RBS Group''s Asia OperationsCentre, which provides infrastructure support globally.
Menon joined RBS in 2007 as head of GBM India fromBarclays Capital where he was co-CEO for India. Prior to that,Menon was head of corporate banking for the Eastern region atAmerican Express India where he started his banking career in1989. He has diverse experience in debt capital markets,equities capital markets, corporate banking, M&As, forex andfixed income trading.
