Pro-Trinamool intellectuals are not intellectuals: WBPCC chief
Kolkata, Jan 12 (PTI) Stoking controversy, West BengalPradesh Congress president Manas Bhunia today labelled pro-Trinamool intellectuals who visited a Lalgarh village whereseven persons were shot dead on January seven as "self-proclaimed" ones.
Claiming that they were supporters of "a specificpolitical party" and could not be called intellectuals, Bhuniasaid "they are self-proclaimed intellectuals."
He wondered how these individuals could expect to becalled intellectuals as they were "politicallycompartmentalised".
Painter Suvaprasanna, theatre personality Bratya Basuand Shaonli Mitra were among the intellectuals who visited theNetai village in Lalharh police station area yesterday.
Trinamool Congress leaders Partha Chatterjee andSubhendu Adhikary had also visited the village.
Earlier, a WBPCC team, headed by Bhunia had visitedthe village and demanded a CBI inquiry into the firing. PTIAKB PC
