Kotdwara (U''Khand), Jan 2 (PTI) A man posing as an IPSofficer was arrested and a case of forgery registered againsthim for allegedly trying to extract undue favours fromofficials at a police station here.
Arun Shukla, an IPS aspirant from Baliya in UttarPradesh, approached the police station yesterday andintroduced himself as a fresh IPS officer to the officialspresent there. He asked them to make arrangements for a deluxebus ticket to Haridwar, senior police officer J C Pathak said.
However, when the police cross checked his credentials,they found that Shukla was an impostor who had come toHaridwar for sight seeing.
After he was left without any money, he made a plan toextract money from the police, Pathak said.
