Court issues NBW against police inspector in rioting case
Muzaffarnagar, Jan 13 (PTI) A local court today issuedfresh non-bailable warrant against a police inspector forfailing to appear before it as a witness in a rioting caseagainst 12 BSP activists, including MP Kadir Rana.
Additional District Sessions Judge S K Banerji issuedthe NBW against Agra police inspector Vijay Kumar, who is aninvestigation officer in the case, after he failed to appearbefore the court as the witness.
The Judge also ordered the police department towithhold his salary for one month and directed the Agra DIG toproduce the inspector before it on January 24.
The court had earlier also issued NBW to theinspector.
During Lok Sabha elections in 2004, Kadir Rana, alongwith 11 other party activists held violent protests outsidethe District Magistrate''s residence against the arrest of aparty candidate, Shahnawaz Rana, in which several policemenwere injured and many police vehicles burnt.
Shahnawaz, who is currently the Member of LegislativeAssembly (MLA) from Bijnore, was arrested for violating modelcode of conduct at the behest of Election Commissioner. PTICORR PMS
