Cold wave continues to lash HP
Shimla, Jan 12 (PTI) Piercing cold wave continued to lashHimachal Pradesh with the temperature in high altitude areashovering between -10 deg C and -23 deg C.
People had to melt ice to meet their water requirements.
Keylong in Lahaul recorded a low of -12.4 deg C, while itwas -5.2 deg C at Kalpa in Spiti and Kinnaur.
However, the state capital Shimla, got some relief fromthe biting cold as minimum temperature rose to 6 deg C.
Elsewhere, Sundernagar recorded minimum 0.9 deg C, ,Bhuntar 0.8 deg C and Solan 1.2 deg C.
Met department forecast rains and snowfall at isolatedplaces in the state on January 14 and 15.
"A western disturbance is likely to trigger light tomoderate rain or snow at many places in Himachal Pradesh onJanuary 14 and 15," state MeT director R K Lakhanpal said.
Snowfall is expected at tourist places like Narkanda,Manali, Rohtang Pass and Kufri.
