AP Congress MLAs who attended Jagan''s fast to face action
Hyderabad, Jan 12 (PTI) Congress leadership would takeproper action against the MLAs who attended former MP Y SJagan Mohan Reddy''s fast in Delhi at an "appropriate time",Andhra Pradesh Congress said today.
"Appropriate action would be taken at an appropriatetime. There is no question of sparing those who violated partydiscipline. They (MLAs) may say we have attended (the fast)because it is a farmers'' issue. All these things are there," KSatyanarayana Raju, Chairman of party''s state disciplinarycommittee, told reporters.
Raju met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy here.
Meanwhile, the Jagan issue was discussed at a meetingof distinct Congress Presidents and other party leaders heldat the AP Congress headquarters here. The meet was chaired bythe Chief Minister and PCC President D Srinivas.
The leaders are understood have said that the matterof 23 party MLAs attending Jagan''s fast yesterday is beinglooked after by the Congress high command. They have told theleaders that there is a need for more clarity on who may sidewith the former Kadapa MP who has announced his plan tolaunch a new political party, sources said.
They said Congress has a loyal vote bank in the statewhich would stand the party in good stead.
Srinivas, who briefed the media after the meeting,declined to take questions on the MLAs attending Jagan''s fast.
He said monitoring committees for welfare programmeswill be constituted soon at the mandal (block), district, cityand state level.
