New Delhi, Jan 11 (PTI) Delhi Metro is planning to setup specialised medical counters in some stations to provideimmediate help to patients in emergency cases and is indiscussion with two hospital groups.
"We are currently in talks with two hospitals forsetting up of counters at some stations where commuters whoare unwell or injured can be helped," Rajumar, Director(Operations) of DMRC, said.
The logistics are being worked out in this regard, hesaid adding at present, its staff is called to help unwellpassengers.
"We have unwell or injured people seeking medical helpat our stations on an everyday basis. We rush them to thehospital and offer whatever medical aid is necessary," hesaid.
Some of the DMRC staff is trained in first aid and arecapable of administering help, he said adding that they werenow looking at starting these medical counters.
He said they were looking at the space available andsecurity aspects before deciding which stations should beselected for the purpose.
