No threat to Andhra govt: Moily

Hyderabad, Jan 11 (PTI) Dismissing former MP Y SJaganmohan Reddy''s claim that the Andhra Pradesh governmentwas at his mercy, Congress today asserted there was no threatto it and termed the present situation in the state as"temporary ripples".

"We know our strength. Congress is 125 years old.

There is no need to worry about the Congress government,"Union minister and in-charge of Congress affairs in AndhraPradesh M Veerappa Moily told media persons here.

Moily termed the present crisis as "temporary ripplesin the water and everything will be set right soon".

Replying to a question on possible action againstthose MLAs who participated in ''Jagan Deeksha'' in the nationalcapital today, Moily said the party knows what action to betaken against them in the due course.

Jagan observed a day-long fast at Jantar Mantaragainst the recent judgement of Krishna Tribunal on watersharing among Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka. Thefast was also to highlight the plights of farmers of thestate.

Jagan claimed said the Congress government in thestate is at his mercy as those 20 odd MLAs who according tohim attended the Deeksha are still supporting the governmenton his instructions.

"The Congress government is at my mercy as I asked myMLAs not to resign and destabilise the government. Because Iam a gentleman," Jagan said in Delhi.

Moily refrained from commenting on the Jagan issue asthe latter "was not with Congress now".

In the morning, Moily met Chief Minister Kiran KumarReddy and discussed present state of affairs of the party. PTIKUR GDK
