JK govt to finalise BOSE chairman by Jan-end: Peerzada

Jammu, Jan 12 (PTI) The Chairman of the Board ofSchool Education (BOSE), a post lying vacant for the last twomonths, will be decided by a search committee, scheduled tomeet over the issue this month, a Jammu and Kashmir ministersaid today.

"A four-member search committee headed by CommissionerSecretary Naseema Lankar will meet on January 16 to finalisethe name of the Chairman," Minister for Education PeerzadaMohmmad Sayeed told reporters at a function here.

The position is vacant for the last two months afterthe retirement of Prof Desh Bhanu. Bhanu retired two monthsago after his two-year long tenure.

Four names have been shortlisted for the post.

At present Commissioner/Secretary School EducationNaseema Lanker is holding the additional charge for the post.

Negating the delays in the selection of the chairman,the Minister said, "Every process takes some time. We are atit. The working of BOSE has not been affected." PTI AB PMS
