Former MLA demands CID probe into Charkha Dahikar case

Amravati, Jan 12 (PTI) Former MLA Rajkumar Patel hasdemanded a CID probe into the Charkha Dahikar death casestating that the city police has made no headway in thisconnection so far.

Patel met District Collector Richa Bagala to apprise ofthe lackdaiscal approach of the police in the case.

Charkha Dahikar, who had given birth to a baby atDharni at her relative''s house was admitted here at theEDistrict Womens hospital on December 8 due to lack of blood inher body. But she went missing from the hospital fromDecember 10 and her dead body was found in a pond behind theBoys Hostel of Industrial Training Institute on December 12.

Gadgenagar police had registered the case but could notmake any headway in it. Police had registered the statementsof Ramoti Kasdekar and her husband Rambhau, who was withCharkha in the hospital.

But they were allegedly asked to change their statementsand when Rambhau did not comply to it he was allegedly roughedup police.

Angered by this, several organisations here along with theMLA met the Collector and demanded a CID probe into the case.
