Chennai, Jan 12 (PTI) A 17 year-old social activist fromthe city has been selected to attend the five-day WorldEconomic Forum''s annual meeting in Davos in Switzerlandstarting January 26, the British Council said here today.
Anjali Chandrashekar will attend the WEF in her capacity asa British Council Global Changemaker, a council release said.
A two-time national award winning visual activist,Chandrashekar is one of five youths selected to attend theevent from over 1,500 applicants from around the world, therelease said adding she will be the youngest Indian to attendthe WEF meeting.''''Global Changemakers is a network of young socialentrepreneurs and community activists from 110 countriesworld-wide who come together to build their skills, shareideas, and work together on projects that directly impact thelives of those in their communities,'''' the release said.
She was chosen based on her track record of serving hercommunity and her ideas for improving the state of the world,the release added.
Chandrashekar and her colleagues will addres on the theme�Shared Norms for the New Reality.
