Jammu, Jan 12 (PTI) BJP today said the party is firmon its plan to hoist the tri-colour at Lal Chowk in Srinagaron the Republic Day and will also pay homage to war martyrs inUri and Baramulla.
"We will go ahead with our scheduled programme ofvisiting Uri, Baramulla and Srinagar to pay homages to the warmartyrs like Brig Rajinder Singh and Maqbool Sherwani, besideshoisting tri-colour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar", state BJP chiefShamshir Singh Manhas said told party workers here.
He slammed National Conference and Congress forcritisising BJP youth wing''s Rashtriya Ekta Yatra and theirplans to pay homages to the martyrs and hoist tri-colour atLal Chowk.
Manhas said leaders of NC and Congress are misleadingmasses in order to divert attention from the failures ofNC-Congress coalition government in the state.
Paying floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his150th birth anniversary, the BJP leader said "for Vivekananda,the nation, humanity and universal brotherhood were the mainobjectives of his life."
BJYM state President Munish Sharma, on the occasion,criticised all such elements who are opposing the hoisting oftri-colour at Lal Chowk.
He said that even the constitution allows everyindividual to hoist tri-colour "in a respectful way" and theBJYM activists are not going to commit any crime by doing so.
