Patna, Jan 11 (PTI) Stating that he would follow thedirectives of AICC regarding the decision of BPCC chiefMehboob Ali Kaiser to remove him from the post of PCC mediain-charge, senior Congress leader Prem Chandra Mishra todaysaid only the central leadership can take a final decisionabout his status.
"I have acknowledged the receipt of party''s show causenotice served to me and submitted my reply to AICC GeneralSecretary and Union minister for Social Justice andEmpowerment and in-charge Bihar affairs Mukul Wasnik," Mishratold PTI referring to the decision of BPCC President not todischarge any duty as of now.
Mishra, who apparently earned the wrath of the BPCCchief for using some words against him a couple of days back,claimed, "I had only maintained that all Congress leadersshould abide by the guidelines of the high command and worktogether in the interests of the party."
"I had not crossed my brief in interacting withmedia....but if this amounts to indiscipline its for thecentral leadership to take any decision," he asserted.
Vowing only AICC could take any final call about hisstatus, he said "I was appointed by Wasnik to the post. So Ihave informed him about the latest development and now waitingfor his directives."
In another twist, senior Congress leader,ChandanBagchi, MLC and former BPCC President, refused to formallytake up the charge as the head of the disciplinary committeeuntil his name was cleared by the AICC.
"I will clear my stand on return to Patna in a day ortwo", Bagchi said over phone making it clear he would take upany assignment only after getting the clearance of the AICC.
Bagchi was conspicuous by his absence when his namewas being announced by BPPC President as head of thedisciplinary committee two days back at a press conferencehere.
