Las Vegas, Jan 7: Taiwan based smartphone manufacturer, HTC, has announced the latest 4G smartphone, HTC Thunderbolt, at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2011 in Las Vegas. The new Thunderbolt will be available through Verizon in United States.

HTC Thunderbolt has a massive 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen which gives maximum multimedia entertainment on Verizon's 4G LTE network. The diaplay screen supports 800x480 pixel resolution. Thunderbolt runs on Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and is powered with 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

This handset offers an 8-megapixel camera at rear which supports HD video recording. It also gives a VGA camera at front for video calling. The DLNA capability on Thunderbolt enables it to stream and share content directly with compatible home theater components, including HDTV"s and stereo receivers.

HTC has not yet announced the price of Thunderbolt. Verizon described this smartphone as "one of the world"s first 4G LTE Android smartphones." The date of the release is not available. Stay tuned for more updates.
