CWG: CBI files a fresh FIR on Kalmadi

New Delhi, Jan 6: The CBI has registered fourth FIR on Suresh Kalmadi in Commonwealth Games (CWG) scam, on Thursday, Jan 6. The FIR has been filed in the connection with the irregularities in overlay contracts for the mega game event.

CBI also conducting more raids related to CWG scam. Sources said that raids are underway at ten places in the National Capital Region including premises of four firms in connection with the CWG scam.

kalmadi was quizzed by CBI on his alleged involvement in financial malpractices in the preparation for the CWG. CBI grilled Kalmadi, nearly for nine hours on Wednesday. A day after CBI probed Kalmadi, fresh FIR has been lodged.

The investigators were not convinced with the explanations of Kalmadi. Kalmadi has been denied all the charges against him. But CBI have hinted Kalmadi that they might call him again for the further clarification.

The CBI suspect that the contracts of mega game event was allegedly delayed to benefit the selected list of firms and contractors.
